Arek Kukawski from Milików is a first-year student at the lower secondary school in Nowogrodziec. He was born without hands or feet. He gets around using heavy, poorly fitted prostheses. He travels the long route from home to school on foot or by bicycle.
Despite his disability, Arek plays football, writes without anyone’s help and operates a computer. He needs only arm and leg prostheses to become fully independent. The cost of purchasing them is PLN 90,000. The boy comes from a large family. “His parents certainly will not be able to afford such an expense,” Alicja Krawczyk, head of the student council and initiator of the charity campaign, told IstotneInformacje.pl.
On Sunday, 22 February, a charity concert for Arek will be held in the auditorium of the Primary School in Nowogrodziec. Teachers and students from the lower secondary school in Nowogrodziec will perform, among others. The Bobrzanie Slavic group has also announced its participation. A raffle will also be an attraction at the concert.
