There will be a new holiday. By decision of the Republic of Poland’s Sejm, on 24 March we will observe the National Day of Remembrance for Poles Who Saved Jews. As we read on wprost.pl:

The text of the bill provides for establishing the holiday on 24 March “as a tribute to Poles—heroes who, in an act of heroic courage (...), saved their Jewish fellow citizens from the Holocaust planned and carried out by the German occupiers.” The bill received a positive opinion from the Sejm Committee on Culture and Media. The committee is chaired by Elżbieta Kruk of the National Media Council.

Only Nowoczesna deputies voted against the presidential bill. Two deputies—one from Civic Platform and the other unaffiliated—abstained.

What do you think? Is it good that such a holiday has been established?
