Young boys aged 12 to 16 tore plaques bearing the details of those killed during the Second World War from 350 graves on Meissnera Street in August this year. Of the 260 plaques scattered around the cemetery by the perpetrators, all were recovered. The losses were estimated at PLN 6,300.

After less than three months, seven minors were charged with desecrating the resting place of Soviet Army soldiers. The case files were sent to the Family Court in Bolesławiec, together with a request to apply appropriate educational measures.
