The incident occurred on the night from Tuesday to Wednesday. Firefighters received information about the fire after 3:00 a.m. Several units were dispatched to the scene. When the firefighters arrived, the entire roof of the large building was ablaze.

The house was empty and no one was hurt. As we read on the website of the Komenda Powiatowa Państwowej Straży Pożarnej w Bolesławcu:

Units from JRG Bolesławiec, OSP Nowogrodziec, OSP Gościszów, OSP Ocice, OSP Czerna and OSP Gierałtów were dispatched to the scene of the fire. Other services also supported the firefighters: the police, emergency medical services, the power emergency service and a waterworks representative.

As the first units were approaching, it became clear that the building’s roof was on fire and that a substantial part of it had collapsed. The units conducted rescue and firefighting operations inside and outside the building. Water was applied, and property was also evacuated.

The operation was significantly hampered by the collapsed roof, which had fallen onto the ceiling below. To reach all the fire hotspots, structural elements of the burning roof were removed by hand and taken outside the building.

The operation lasted approximately five hours. (Some of the photos come from the Facebook profile of OSP Nowogrodziec.)
