The investment is being carried out as part of the revitalisation of the degraded areas of Zakaczawie. The project has also received more than PLN 328,100 in funding from the state budget, bringing the total funding for the Legnica project to approximately PLN 2.43 million. The total value of the investment is approximately PLN 4.3 million.
In this competition decision, under the Regional Operational Programme of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship for 2014–2020, funding was awarded to only four cities, one project per city. The combined value of all 24 projects submitted in the region reached PLN 100 million, while the total value of the grants awarded was only approximately PLN 18.6 million.
Let us recall that, under the Local Revitalisation Programme for 2015–2020, the city prepared 12 projects concerning Zakaczawie. Seven of them applied for EU grants. All of them will be completed. One has already been completed, and four are currently under construction.
Recently, a modern sports and recreation complex was created on the grounds of Primary School No. 1 on Kamienna Street. The reconstruction of Wrocławska Street from Sybiraków Square to Nadbrzeżna Street is already well advanced and will be completed in spring. The revitalisation of the common areas of five municipal houses on Kamienna and Kościelna streets is under way, with a value of more than PLN 4.1 million. The work is scheduled to continue until July this year. Legnica had previously secured more than PLN 2.6 million in EU and state-budget funding for this purpose. In addition, work is under way to develop the large courtyard at the junction of Kamienna, Kościelna, Daszyńskiego and Wrocławska streets.
Construction work to create the Social Integration Centre is already under way. It is scheduled for completion in March next year. The SIC will carry out the existing activities of Therapeutic Day Centre No. 1, aimed at children and young people. It will also focus on activating adults and seniors, as well as cooperating with social organisations that, as part of the partnership, will support the implementation of the revitalisation project.
