The incident occurred before 1:00 p.m. in Mirsk (Lwówek County). A gas cylinder exploded. Two floors of a three-story tenement building on Mickiewicza Street collapsed, reports the portal lwówecki info.

It is currently known that 9 people have been injured. Five of them are children. A further 16 people were evacuated from neighboring buildings.

Ambulances and police are at the scene. Firefighters from various units, including those from Bolesławiec, have been called in. The rescue operation is underway. Firefighters are searching the rubble. Two Polish Medical Air Rescue helicopters were also called to Mirsk and transported the two most seriously injured people to hospital.
