The incident occurred on Sunday, January 14, at around 11:00 p.m. A city surveillance operator noticed two men loading euro pallets into a car behind Bolesławiecka Bazylika Maryjna.
The operator notified the police duty officer and kept him informed of the route taken by the thieves. First, the suspects stopped at a Shell petrol station, where they unhurriedly filled a canister with fuel.
After a while, they left the vehicle and headed toward Tadka Jasińskiego Street (formerly Buczka Street). When they saw the police car, they began fleeing toward Spółdzielcza Street, where they were detained.
Further proceedings in the case are being conducted by the Bolesławiec police. Both detainees could face up to five years in prison.
