Winter holidays for students from schools in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship will begin on 19 January. Bolesławiec institutions have prepared a variety of attractions and activities for children and young people.

Offer of the Bolesławiec Cultural Centre

The Bolesławiec Cultural Centre invites visitors to film screenings and art classes. Kino Forum is offering interesting films for older and younger audiences. Animated films for children will be shown at the promotional price of PLN 11 per screening. Film screenings are not the only attractions prepared by BOK for the holidays. The Bolesławiec Cultural Centre also invites children to art, theatre and dance classes, as well as exhibitions.

Offer of the Municipal Public Library

The Municipal Public Library has decided to introduce young people to Indian culture and customs. “In Winnetou’s Footsteps”—Indian holidays at the Library—will begin on 20 January at 12:00. Numerous attractions have been prepared for children, including an Indian fashion show, Indian sports competitions, and readings of Indian tales and legends. In addition, on 23 and 30 January the library invites visitors to fairy-tale film festivals.

Meanwhile, the library branch on Staroszkolna Street has prepared “Holidays with Polish legend and tradition” for children. Attractions include readings of legends, preparing surprises for Grandmother’s Day and Grandfather’s Day, various art classes, and learning embroidery techniques.

Offer of the Municipal Sports and Recreation Centre

The Municipal Sports and Recreation Centre invites visitors to the indoor swimming pool at 52 Zgorzelecka Street. Recreational swimming, Swimming ABC, earning the “I Can Swim” badge and Correspondence Swimming Competitions are just some of the attractions prepared by MOSiR.

At the Biological Regeneration Centre (the indoor swimming pool building), participants can take part in taekwondo, capoeira, jujitsu and aerobics classes. Games and physical activities for children will also be held. Meanwhile, TKKF Bolesławianka invites visitors to classes at the gym by the municipal stadium, at 2 Spółdzielcza Street.

Offer of the Inter-School Sports Centre

The Inter-School Sports Centre invites participants to activities in the I LO gym. It will be possible to play, among other things, football, volleyball and take part in model-making classes. In addition, the so-called small gym will offer opportunities to play bridge, table tennis or take part in dance classes.

Offer of the Museum of Ceramics

During the holidays, the Museum of Ceramics invites visitors to its building at 14 Kutuzowa Street. Classes will be held on Tuesdays (20 and 27 January) and Thursdays (22 and 29 January) from 10:00 to 12:00. The main topic will be ceramics and methods of producing it. Participants will learn a great deal about historic ceramic vessels, including how the vessels were made and whether damage occurred during firing or use. Archaeologists Barbara Glinkowska and Michał Karpiński will show how to distinguish individual parts of a vessel and how to reconstruct damaged vessels.
