On December 18, the armored brigade commander met with wounded and injured soldiers and their closest relatives. Also present that day at the Military Club were the commanders of subunits of the Świętoszów unit and the management staff.
Colonel, PhD Dariusz Parylakaddressed those gathered:
I thought for a long time about what I should wish you on such an exceptional day. I think the most appropriate wishes would be for your dreams to come true. Each of you has your own collection of dreams and desires which, hopefully, will be realized next year. A person without dreams is a poor person. May the New Year 2018 be a special one for you. In addition, I wish you prosperity and many successes in all areas of life.
The atmosphere during the Christmas Eve gathering was truly festive. Decorated Christmas trees, the white Christmas wafer, traditional dishes and candles on the tables—all of this made the guests feel as though they were among their closest relatives.
In addition to delicious Christmas Eve dishes, plenty of attractions awaited the youngest guests. The biggest was undoubtedly Santa Claus’s visit. The children received gifts that brought smiles to everyone’s faces. The youngest guests could test their dexterity, including throwing cotton snowballs at a target and rolling up “Santa Claus’s beard.”
“The Christmas Eve gathering at the Military Club was a time for exchanging good wishes, conversations, moments of reflection and contemplation,” said the armored cavalry soldiers. “The gathering brought everyone closer to Christmas, which will be a time for rest and for summing up another year that is just coming to an end.”
