The 17th Finale of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity has begun in Bolesławiec County. The Orchestra is playing in Gromadka, Nowa near Kraszowice, Nowogrodziec, Świętoszów, Warta Bolesławiecka and Bolesławiec. Volunteers collecting donations for WOŚP have appeared on the streets of towns and villages.
In Bolesławiec, the Orchestra began playing at 10:00 a.m. At the Agora bookstore, volunteers read stories to children. At 11:00 a.m., an unusual nativity play began in the Town Hall lobby. It was unusual because, besides students from Municipal Lower Secondary School No. 2, President Piotr Roman (as St. Joseph) and Deputy Mayor Maciej Małkowski (as shepherd Maciej) also appeared in the performance.
By 7:15 p.m., PLN 26,741 had been collected (including PLN 3,628 from the lottery). Young people will collect donations in the streets until 8:00 p.m. In addition, money is being collected at Concordia.
Bolesławiec police officers collected donations by the Town Hall. Visitors could sit in a new police car and learn about police equipment.
After noon, a procession set off from the Town Hall. The parade participants marched along Prusa Street and headed towards Concordia, where auctions, lotteries, artistic performances and demonstrations will continue until late evening.
The army has also joined the fundraising campaign for the Orchestra. Cavalrymen from the 10th Armored Cavalry Brigade in Świętoszów are collecting donations on the streets of our town. In front of the Concordia Gallery, soldiers from the 23rd Silesian Artillery Brigade are serving hot pea soup. Army-related merchandise can also be purchased there.
Everyone who wants to support this worthy initiative can also do so at Piwnica Paryska, Opałkowa Chata and Gospoda Kruszyna in Kruszyna, where concerts and performances are being held as part of the 17th WOŚP Finale.
The organizers invite Bolesławiec residents to the Light to Heaven (at approximately 8:00 p.m. at Concordia), which will conclude the 17th Finale of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity in Bolesławiec.
