On Friday, December 15, an intermunicipal agreement was signed at Bolesławiec City Hall concerning entrusting the Bolesławiec urban municipality with a public social-assistance task: providing shelter to homeless men.

The agreement concerns the obligation to provide shelter to homeless men from the municipalities of Bolesławiec, Gromadka, Warta Bolesławiecka, Nowogrodziec and Osiecznica. It also specifies the number of places in the Shelter for Homeless Men and the amount of the annual grant for each municipality:

  • Bolesławiec urban municipality: 18 places – PLN 180,000
  • Bolesławiec municipality: 6 places – PLN 60,000
  • Gromadka municipality: 6 places – PLN 60,000
  • Warta Bolesławiecka municipality: 4 places – PLN 40,000
  • Nowogrodziec municipality and town: 3 places – PLN 30,000
  • Osiecznica municipality: 1 place – PLN 10,000.

The agreement was signed by Bolesławiec mayor Piotr Roman, Bolesławiec municipality head Andrzej Dutkowski, Gromadka municipality head Dariusz Pawliszczy, Warta municipality head Mirosław Haniszewski, Nowogrodziec deputy mayor Dariusz Jancelewicz and Osiecznica municipality head Waldemar Nalazek.

The Shelter for Homeless People is located at 32d Tysiąclecia Avenue and is run by the Bolesławiec branch of the Polish Red Cross. Among other things, the facility aims to meet residents’ basic living and social needs and undertake activation measures intended to help them overcome homelessness.
