Cinema Day is a nationwide social initiative promoting Polish cinematography, watching films and going to the cinema as a place of entertainment. On this occasion, tickets for every screening at all cinemas participating in the event cost just PLN 12.

From Friday, December 8, Forum Cinema BOK–MCC will screen “Silent Night”, winner of the Golden Lions at the Gdynia Film Festival, as well as the excellent crime thriller “Murder on the Orient Express”. Also showing are the animated film “Barbie: Dolphin Magic” and Woody Allen’s new film “Wonder Wheel”.

“Silent Night” – Adam (Dawid Ogrodnik), who works abroad on a daily basis, visits his family home in the Polish countryside on Christmas Eve. At first, he hides the real reason for this unexpected visit, but soon begins to introduce his relatives to his plans one by one. His father (Arkadiusz Jakubik), his brother (Tomasz Ziętek), with whom Adam is in conflict, and his sister (Maria Dębska) and her husband (Tomasz Schuchardt) all have particularly important roles to play in the intrigue. The situation becomes even more complicated when the Christmas guest announces that he is going to become a father. Then, in accordance with Polish tradition, alcohol appears on the table. No one in the family expects how greatly the further events of that Christmas Eve will affect all their lives.

“Murder on the Orient Express” is an adaptation of Agatha Christie’s classic crime novel, directed by five-time Oscar nominee Kenneth Branagh. He also plays the famous detective Hercule Poirot, who investigates the murder of an influential American businessman, the victim of a crime committed on the world’s most famous train. A luxurious journey becomes the starting point for a stylish, suspenseful and surprising thriller, regarded as the greatest criminal mystery of all time. Thirteen passengers are trapped, not knowing what awaits them. One man must identify the murderer before he strikes again.
