The WPA Federation World Championships were held in Siedlce from November 30 to December 3. During the event, Staff Corporal Zbigniew Boczar, a resident of Lwówek Śląski and a soldier of the 23rd Silesian Artillery Regiment in Bolesławiec, won silver in the up-to-90 kg weight category, thus becoming the WPA Federation world runner-up among uniformed services in the raw bench press.

Zbigniew Boczar:

Unfortunately, achieving success was not easy. Despite a lack of suitable preparation for an event of such high rank and many adversities, my participation in the competition ended successfully, thanks also to the support and kindness of people who are trying to help me.

I hope that I managed to represent the Polish Armed Forces with dignity on the international stage and that my superiors will finally notice my determination to achieve my goal and appreciate my commitment—not only when performing duties in uniform, but also in other circumstances. So that I can continue to be proud of being a Polish soldier.

I would like to thank my loved ones, my wife and my mother for their help with my preparations. The Comprehensive Physiotherapy Center Mariusz Machniak for preparing me for the competition. The representative of Jako Polska, Tomasz Mojsa, for the tracksuits in which I proudly appeared with my sons during the World Championships. WPA Polska President Tomasz Andrzejczak for his valuable advice. My female and male teammates from the best team in the world, Tytan Team, and everyone who cheered me on.
