County Council member Jadwiga Bobek of the Platforma Samorządowa submitted an interpellation concerning the parking lot at the County Office on Armii Krajowej Street in Bolesławiec. “There is no way to stop there,” she stressed. “People who work at the county office arrive before seven, only to find that there is no space.”
J. Bobek continued that people with disabilities face a similar problem because there are too few disabled parking spaces, and those spaces are constantly occupied as well, not necessarily by people entitled to use them.
“We have this problem too. You have to get there when there are free spaces,” Bolesławiec county head Karol Stasik replied matter-of-factly. “We already wanted to install barriers there this year, but we did not have enough funds.”
This means that in the future the parking lot on Armii Krajowej will probably be paid. However, officials want the fees to be “within reasonable limits.” For example, the first half-hour could be free—especially for people handling business at the county office.
“First, however, we need to reach an agreement on this matter with the head of Bolesławiec municipality,” K. Stasik added. “That is crucial.”
