The project classes began in March 2017 and concluded in November 2017 with workshops led by one of the best Polish instructor couples, Agnieszka Stach and Tymoteusz Ley. The conclusion of the project was an opportunity to assess the progress made by the entire group. According to the instructors, significant progress was visible from the very first minutes of the classes. The evening milonga only confirmed this observation.
During all seven project meetings, attendance from both the Polish and Czech sides exceeded 100 percent. Each time, 50 people took part in the classes (10 couples from the Czech Republic and 15 couples from Poland), while more than 30 couples danced on the floor during the evening milonga meetings. The evenings at “Forum” were regularly attended not only by tango enthusiasts from Bolesławiec and Liberec, but also from Gorlitz, Zgorzelec and Jelenia Góra.
The organizers (BOK – MCC and the city of Jablonec nad Nisou) extended their great thanks to the project’s originators—the Bolesławiec associations bringing together enthusiasts of Argentine tango: “Cafe Tango” and “Tango Bolesławiec”.
It is mainly thanks to their passion and genuine love of tango that BOK – MCC has already organized its third international dance workshop. The “Tango Milonga” project would not have turned out so well without the exceptional commitment and assistance of Alicja and Janusz Kozioł. It was to them that the applicant and project partner expressed their greatest thanks.
In conclusion, it is worth recalling that the instructors who took part in the project were among Poland’s leading tango teachers: Agnieszka Stach and Tymoteusz Ley, Anna Sieprawska, Anita Escobar, Osana Ardelean and Facundo Penalva, as well as Joanna Jabłońska and Michael Watson).
The “Tango Milonga – Polish-Czech Dance Workshops” project is co-financed by the European Union under the European Regional Development Fund and by the state budget through the Nysa Euroregion.
