Piotr Roman informed attendees during the November session of the Bolesławiec City Council that he would refer the matter concerning the square at Łokietka, Zgorzelecka and Górne Młyny Streets to the Central Anticorruption Bureau. “This matter is complicated,” the mayor said. “We have legal opinions stating that construction can already begin there. And we want to find out how the municipality can recover the amounts owed.”
More information about the problem with the so-called Bermuda Triangle can be found in the article: The square near Łokietka and Zgorzelecka Streets was not auctioned.
Opposition councillor Dariusz Mucha said that the matter had already been referred to the CBA. He added that the mayor had slandered three councillors (D. Mucha, Maciej Małkowski and Łukasz Molak), suggesting that they had attempted to influence the tax authority. “That was never our intention,” the councillor stressed. “Your mistakes led to this situation.”
