Over the weekend, Cyclone Grzegorz passed over Lower Silesia. Forecasters reported that gusts reached speeds of up to 90 km/h. We have information about two trees that were toppled in Bolesławiec: on Konstytucji 3 Maja Street and Jana Pawła II Street.
Fortunately, Grzegorz did not cause destruction on the scale of Storm Ksawery, which hit Poland at the beginning of October. However, we have established that on Sunday morning, before 9:00 a.m., firefighters had carried out more than 20 interventions across the county. From Michał, we learned that in the cemetery in Tomaszów Bolesławiecki, the wind broke a tree, which damaged several graves. In Mierzwin, meanwhile, the wind damaged a building's roof.
Update: 2017-10-30 9:30
Volunteer firefighters from Trzebień carried out operations on Sunday at a farm building in Kraśnik Dolny, where the roof had been torn off; at a fallen tree on a municipal road in Trzebień Mały; and at a residential building in Trzebień, where part of the roof covering had been torn off. Meanwhile, firefighters from Czerna were dispatched to remove fallen trees from Road 296 between Godzieszów and Henryków. OSP Krzyżowa (Gromadka municipality) removed a fallen branch from the road to Kraśnik.
