Although there were some inconveniences, as the summer renovation was troublesome for drivers, as they say, “there is no rose without thorns.” It was worth arming oneself with patience for the duration of the renovation, because the scope of work was very extensive, including the replacement of installations and the installation of new street lighting. Meanwhile, the road-related facts: Ogrodowa and Polna Streets were renovated by Przedsiębiorstwo Robót Drogowych Sp. z o.o., based in Jałowiec. The work carried out included renewing the road surfaces, laying a wearing course made of mineral-asphalt mixtures, and laying sidewalks with concrete paving blocks.

The adjustment of manholes for sewer access covers, telephone and drainage chambers, as well as water and gas valves, was also completed. Ogrodowa Street cost more than 410,000, while Polna cost just under 645,000. 2018 is shaping up to be equally ambitious. Powiat Bolesławiecki and Gmina Miejska Bolesławiec intend to build on this success and jointly reconstruct a series of streets with sidewalks: Dolne Młyny, Mostowa and Staszica, as well as expand the parking lot near Schools No. 5 and II LO.
