On Thursday (October 19), American military vehicles from the 2nd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division of the US Army arrived in Bolesławiec. Among them were popular Hummers and various types of trucks. American soldiers unloaded the equipment from the railcars. After unloading, one of the tankers apparently began leaking diesel fuel. A greasy trail was left on Modłowa and Cieszkowskiego streets. Firefighters dealt with the spill. It was covered with absorbent material.

This is already the second rotation of American soldiers who are stationed rotationally at the Bolesławiec garrison. Currently, soldiers from the 82nd Engineer Battalion (82 BEB), stationed at Fort Riley, have replaced their colleagues from the 588th Engineer Battalion (588 BEB) from Fort Carson. The American troops will be here for nine months. Apart from Bolesławiec, the Americans have deployed their troops at units in Świętoszów, Żagań and Skwierzyna.
