Agnieszka Pleśniak from the Non-Public Kindergarten “Akademia Rozwoju” in Tomaszów Bolesławiecki (Warta Bolesławiecka municipality):
On October 11, we celebrated Tree Day at “Akademia Rozwoju”. The aim of our activities was to expand the children’s knowledge about trees and their importance to the environment, develop a caring attitude toward plants, and foster pro-environmental attitudes.
At the beginning of the activities, we discussed the parts that make up a tree and identified which parts grow above ground and which grow underground. The preschoolers listened to R. Pisarski’s poem “The Green Heart”, from which they learned that trees must not be harmed or destroyed, as they are the “green lungs” of our planet.
We also admired the beautiful little trees made by the children. We took part in a search game called “Where Are You, Little Chestnut?”. Our task was to find a tiny chestnut by following the instructions :)
Of course, there was also active music listening and our beloved “Chestnuts”. During the activities, we learned about a friendly beetle that lives in old trees and feels best in green corridors :)
The preschoolers played a game in which they had to guide an oak hermit beetle through the trees, which was not so easy :)
A forester also visited the children at the kindergarten in Tomaszów Bolesławiecki. A. Pleśniak:
Mr Michał introduced us to his work, told us about the rules of conduct in the forest, the trees found there, and the forest’s inhabitants. The forester showed us the accessories he uses in his work. We can tell you that they attracted great interest among the preschoolers :)
At the end, together with Mr Michał, we planted a larch tree in our preschool garden. We would like to thank Mr Michał for the pleasant and educational meeting and for the beautiful books about mushrooms. After Wednesday’s celebration, let us all remember: Let’s plant trees, because that is what we should do. The Earth will thank us for it and give us a green kiss :)
