The ceremony took place at the Bolesławiec Cultural Centre – International Ceramics Centre. Among those attending the ceremony were Lower Silesian Voivode Paweł Hreniak, Bolesławiec Mayor Piotr Roman, Deputy Bolesławiec County Starost Tomasz Gabrysiak, as well as the mother of Rev. Dr Andrzej Jarosiewicz.
The Bronze Gloria Artis Medal for Merit to Culture was awarded to the priest for protecting culture and national heritage. This is a particularly prestigious distinction honoring outstanding achievements in the field of culture. Prelate Rev. Dr habil. Andrzej Jarosiewicz has always cared for the splendor of the historic Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary and St. Nicholas. In 2017, he secured nearly PLN 5 million for a conservation program covering urgent restoration work on the façades, as well as drainage and drying of the church.
