Regulations of the Competition for the Most Beautiful Handwritten Letter

1. PURPOSE

The purpose of the competition is to save the art of letter writing from being forgotten, including placing importance on the aesthetic and legible recording of the letter's content (e.g. using stationery); and to develop imagination and the ability to express oneself freely through one's own texts.

2. SUBJECT

There are two subjects in the current edition of the competition:

  • “Fate always gives a second chance...” – for categories II (ages 13–15) and III (ages 16 and above)
  • “Those were the best holidays of my life...” – for category I, the youngest age category
    (ages 10–12).

The letter may be addressed to a person who exists in reality or to a fictional person; it may also be an open letter. Each participant has the right to interpret and develop the subject in any way they choose.

3. FORM

A competition participant may submit ONE LETTER handwritten in legible Polish. Illegible letters will not be assessed. Competition entries must be written on paper (a notebook page, stationery, etc.; please do not include illustrations) and take the form of a letter in an envelope.

The envelope should also contain a separate sheet with the participant's details: first name
and surname, address (or email address), contact telephone number, and consent to the publication and processing of personal data (exclusively for the competition's promotional purposes).

4. CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION

Entries will be assessed in the following age categories:

CATEGORY I: ages 10–12

CATEGORY II: ages 13–15

CATEGORY III: ages 16 and above

5. ASSESSMENT AND PRIZES

The submitted letters will be assessed by a Competition Committee composed of writers. The organiser guarantees attractive material prizes for the winners of the two younger categories, while the winners of the adult category will receive gift vouchers in addition to material prizes. Their value depends on the Competition Committee's verdict and the number of winning places.
