Many residents of the city and county are disappointed with the celebrations of the 11th Lubusz Armoured Cavalry Division’s holiday. Everything was scheduled for Friday, during hours when most people are at work. As a result, fewer and fewer people watched the ceremonial assembly with each passing minute. The speeches were long and dull. The only impressive elements of the ceremony were the drill display performed by soldiers of the 10th Armoured Cavalry Brigade from Świętoszów and the parade at the end.
It was much more interesting at Father Popiełuszko Square, where soldiers from the Black Division units were presenting military equipment. Visitors could see many military vehicles, including Leopard tanks.
An outdoor concert and artistic performances were scheduled between 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. In our opinion, this was probably arranged that way so that nobody would accidentally come.
One of the soldiers of the 11th Lubusz Armoured Cavalry Division explained that the division’s holiday falls on September 8, which is why it was organized then. It is a shame that, when choosing the date, nobody considered that many more people would attend on a day off, for example Saturday.
Or perhaps the military simply want to have the weekend off? What do you think?
