The damage occurred mechanically during rehearsals for a musical. The screen was lowered while scenery was being set up on stage. It was scratched through inattention. Cinema manager Ewa Chrobot did not answer the question, asked twice, of when the defect would be removed. In her reply, she wrote only:
The spot cannot be removed with any chemical agent or water. That is all I have to say on this matter.
We therefore suspect that the dark spot will remain on the screen forever. On a surface of 72 m², the spot is not large, but it is visible. It is most noticeable when one has seats on the right-hand side of the auditorium (looking toward the screen) and the film frame contains bright elements. Light does not reflect properly from the scuff, creating a dark spot. The reader summed up the whole matter as follows:
People replace a monitor because of a single bright or dead pixel, but perhaps I really am the only person bothered by this spot. Still, I would like to watch films in accordance with the advertising that Forum Cinema does for itself. They write that the cinema offers the highest level of service and a high level of projection comfort
