The exhibition features works by thirteen participants in the photography studio of the Bolesławiec Cultural Centre – International Ceramics Centre. The exhibition accompanies Polish-Czech photography workshops held as part of the project “Polish-Czech Photographic Impressions. Bolesławiec – Trutnov 2017”.
“Panoptikum” is a collection of peculiarities or an exhibition of unusual, strange things. The exhibition consists of works that present the reality surrounding us in an unusual and peculiar way. Photographs combined on boards into a kind of collage form one coherent whole.
The participants in the photography studio will present their works: Anna Guzik, Anna Stasiak, Iwona Champlewska, Katarzyna Ziembikiewicz, Magdalena Gałkiewicz, Maja Grzesiak, Milena Gajewska, Urszula Popielarz, Wiktoria Jędryczka, Henryk Kut, Krzysztof Pankowski, Sławomir Guzowski and Piotr Sadowski.
The photographs will be presented in a manner that differs from generally accepted standards of photographic display. Black-and-white works will be combined with colour photographs, and vertical images with horizontal ones. The subject matter will vary, from landscapes and reportage to portraits and details. The exhibition aims to present the participants’ diverse interests and the techniques in which they feel most comfortable.
The “panoptikum” exhibition accompanies Polish-Czech photography workshops organised by the Bolesławiec Cultural Centre – International Ceramics Centre and the Association of Podkarkonosze Artists – Visual Artists in Trutnov, in cooperation with the CAMERA Photographic Association. The project “Polish-Czech Photographic Impressions. Bolesławiec – Trutnov 2017” aims to integrate the photographic communities of Bolesławiec and Trutnov, learn about the culture and residents of both cities, and establish lasting cooperation between local photography groups.
As part of the project, photography workshops combined with lectures will be held from 14 to 17 September this year. The meetings, lectures and workshops will take place at the Orzeł Cultural Integration Centre of BOK – MCC, 17 Chopina Street in Bolesławiec.
