On Saturday (2 September), BKS Bolesławiec’s senior team played an away match in the fourth round of the Jelenia Góra district league. Sebastian Tylutki and Mariusz Rutkowski’s players faced the local Orzeł in Wojcieszów. Bolesławiec started the match very nervously. Just a few minutes after the referee’s opening whistle, the hosts had a chance to take the lead. Fortunately, Orzeł’s players failed to take advantage of the confusion in Dawid Kizyma’s penalty area and could not put the ball into the net. As the match progressed, BKS had more possession, but nothing came of that advantage. The home team defended access to their goal skilfully. The signal to attack was given only by the excellent Adrian Kulesza. First, the popular Kaczor tested the home goalkeeper’s alertness with a shot from 30 metres. Then, in the 36th minute, he put his team ahead. The goal came from a header following an accurate cross by Sławomir Dul. BKS pressed on and increased their lead to 2–0 just before half-time. Adrian Biały shot towards the Orzeł goal. Adrian Kulesza collected the ball and comfortably beat the home goalkeeper.
82931It might have seemed that, after the teams switched ends, more goals for BKS were only a matter of time. However, that did not happen. Bolesławiec failed to take several good opportunities. Łukasz Graczyk was among those who missed a great chance. The BKS striker failed to score from a few metres. After his header, the ball flew over the crossbar. The old football saying goes that missed chances come back to haunt you, and that was also the case this time. In the 72nd minute, the hosts scored a goal to reduce the deficit. Marcin Sporny got his name on the scoresheet. Boosted by the goal, Orzeł’s players equalised in the 79th minute. This time, Michał Horodyski scored. Bolesławiec threw themselves into trying to recover the lead. Krzysztof Dmuchowski failed to take a very good opportunity. In the penalty area, the player shot well over the crossbar. And when it seemed that the match would end with the points shared, the finishing touch was provided by the reliable Adrian Kulesza. The BKS striker beat the home goalkeeper for the third time with a header, completing his hat-trick in the process. The goal came in stoppage time. After the goal, the entire BKS team—including the substitutes and fans—literally rushed at Kaczor to thank him. The BKS players’ joy was immense. Meanwhile, Orzeł’s players and local fans protested, claiming that the goal had been scored from an offside position. The protests came to nothing. The officials believed there had been no offside. BKS Bolesławiec – Orzeł Wojcieszów 3–2 (2–0).
