The aim of the adjustment is to ensure the smoothest possible organisation of rail traffic during the next stages of modernisation and renovation works on the lines. With the September timetable adjustment, PKP Intercity has prepared new connections to Ełk and Zakopane.
Changes to train services will affect, among others, the following lines: Warszawa Włochy – Grodzisk Mazowiecki, Białystok – Warszawa, Kraków Główny – Kraków. Balice Airport, and Kraków – Zakopane. The operators, together with the railway infrastructure manager, have prepared an optimal service offer taking the modernisation of railway lines into account. The timetable adjustment enables the infrastructure manager to begin and reorganise works. Work is under way involving the replacement of kilometres of track and the reconstruction of stations. Stations and stops are being modernised, and new traffic-control equipment is being installed.
The most important PKP Intercity changes
