On 16 August, a public discussion was held at Bolesławiec City Hall on the solutions adopted in four draft local plans. The discussion took place as part of the planning procedure initiated by resolutions of the Bolesławiec City Council: No. XVIII/233/2016 of 24 February 2016; No. XV/190/2015 of 25 November 2015, amended by Resolution No. XIX/240/2016 of 23 March 2016; No. XIX/239/2016 of 23 March 2016; and No. XXII/258/2016 of 27 April 2016.

Forty-five people took part in the debate. The meeting concerned draft plans for four areas located within the city, but the discussion was dominated by the plan’s provisions for the area around: Konradowska, Jagiellonów, Piastów and aleja Tysiąclecia streets.

By Resolution No. XVIII/258/2016 of 27 April 2016 on commencing the preparation of a local spatial development plan for the area around Konradowska, Jagiellonów, Piastów and aleja Tysiąclecia streets in Bolesławiec, the Bolesławiec City Council began a planning procedure whose original purpose was to introduce a comprehensive transport solution in the form of a road connecting aleja Tysiąclecia with Piastów Street and, further—via Jagiellonów Street—with Konradowska Street, which is connected through Kopernika Street to B. Kosiby Street.

In connection with numerous protests from residents of the areas through which the planned road was to run, as well as from representatives of the “Gwarek 3” Family Allotment Gardens, the Mayor of Bolesławiec weighed the public interest against private interests. He decided to take the residents’ position into account and abandoned the introduction of the link road. The proposed plan provisions allow, to the necessary extent, the management of properties owned by the Bolesławiec municipal commune, while not affecting land belonging either to private owners or to the Family Allotment Gardens.
