The incident occurred on Saturday, August 5. A sulfuric acid leak took place at the Surmin-Kaolin facility in Nowogrodziec. Fortunately, no one was hurt.
The Saturday–Sunday operation involved, among others, firefighters from the Bolesławiec County PSP Headquarters and volunteer firefighters from the OSP in Nowogrodziec. The hazard was removed by the Specialist Chemical and Ecological Rescue Group from Legnica.
