A report on the “Emergency Corridor...”, an original campaign by two Volunteer Fire Service units – OSP KSRG Czerna (Bolesławiec County, Nowogrodziec Municipality) and OSP KSRG Ujazd Górny (Środa County) – was broadcast on Regional Trójka. As we read on the wroclaw.tvp.pl website:
They lose valuable time or, instead of reaching the scene, run to the accident because fire engines are stuck in traffic jams. Volunteer firefighters from Czerna and Ujazd Górny film how drivers behave when they are heading to an emergency. They film and appeal for an “emergency corridor”.
As the firefighters themselves say: “Every day we reach more people in Poland who, we hope, will remember the phrase EMERGENCY CORRIDOR and, when stuck in a traffic jam during an accident, see or hear our signals—or even without seeing us, remember us—and move to the edge of the road! We are fighting together so that everyone receives help in time in a situation threatening their life or health! THANK YOU FOR BEING WITH US! YOU GIVE US A POSITIVE BOOST FOR FURTHER WORK!!!”
The full report, which also features Senior Brigadier Grzegorz Kocon, county commander of the State Fire Service in Bolesławiec, can be viewed on the TVP3 Wrocław website. (Here you can find more information about the “Emergency Corridor. Think” campaign.)
A report on the campaign by the firefighters from Czerna was also broadcast on “Teleexpress” and TVP Info.
