A competition committee appointed by the Bolesławiec starosta will assess the wreaths at harvest festivals taking place in the municipalities of Bolesławiec County at the turn of August and September (no later than one week before the planned provincial harvest festival, which will take place on 3 September in Uraz, in the municipality of Oborniki Śląskie). Information about the competition results will be published on the Bolesławiec County website.
The aim of the competition is to promote and preserve traditions associated with harvest festival ceremonies, together with the presentation of the abundance of crops woven into harvest festival wreaths. Wreath-making groups may participate in the competition with wreaths whose form and materials used refer to Polish traditions of harvest festival wreaths. The wreaths may not contain plastic, polystyrene or artificial flowers. The wreath’s construction must enable it to be carried in the harvest festival procession.
