The photographs used to illustrate this article were taken on Monday, July 3. Do this type of theft occur often? This year, the Bolesławiec Municipal Police received one report of such a case. The incident took place at the end of April. A woman from outside Bolesławiec stole around 10 tulips from municipal flower beds. She was caught red-handed. (When she saw the officers, she tried to throw some of the flowers into a bin.)
The offender did not accept the fine. The result? The case will end up in court.
Kamila Chalewicz-Pudłowska, head of the Bolesławiec Municipal Police, told us that the woman caught committing the minor theft explained herself as follows: “It’s not like anything happened”.
Fortunately, however, such thefts do not occur on a mass scale. (Thieves usually steal individual flowers.) A reminder! This offence carries a fine of up to PLN 500.
