The incident occurred on July 3 in Adamowo (near Konin, in the Greater Poland Voivodeship). Residents of Bolesławiec County who were spending their holiday there discovered that a hornet nest was located on the grounds of their holiday cottage. The insects had nested in the ground. The holidaymakers notified the fire service. Since families with children were relaxing in the immediate vicinity of the insects dangerous to people, the firefighters’ intervention was justified. Members of OSP Budzisław Kościelny arrived at the scene and removed the hornet nest.
