Polish-German vocal workshops were held at BOK-MCC as part of the project “Culture without Borders – Renovation of the Amphitheatre in the City Park in Bolesławiec and the open-air stage “Weinau" in Zittau”.

The week-long sessions will provide the musical foundation for two final concerts: on July 8 in Bolesławiec and on July 9 in Zittau. The young artists will be accompanied at the final concerts by an excellent trio of accompanists: Jan Sawiński (piano), Marcin Gromnicki (bass) and Karol Pietsch (drums).

The first sessions involve, in addition to typical workshop exercises, selecting songs for the Final Concerts, choosing the key appropriate for each participant and preparing a musical arrangement suited to the particular performer. An excellent team of specialists oversees all musical aspects, comprising: Kasia Wilk – vocalist, Marta Podkula – vocalist, Daniel Grupa – pianist, composer and arranger, and Jan Sawiński – pianist.

Marta Podulka, a singer and composer, is associated with the Poznań-based band 7 sekund. In 2001, she appeared on the programme “Mam talent” (third place), and in 2013/14 she performed, among other events, at the 50th Festival of Polish Song in Opole, in the SuperDebiuty concert, and at the TOPtrendy festival.

The project entitled “Culture without Borders – Renovation of the Amphitheatre in the City Park in Bolesławiec and the open-air stage “Weinau" in Zittau” is being implemented במסגרת the INTERREG Poland–Saxony 2014–2020 Cooperation Programme.
