Squash: health benefits

Squash is not only great fun and a way to improve fitness; it also trains reflexes and concentration, thereby improving perception and motor coordination. Regular play increases physical endurance, helps develop a good physique, strengthens the body, improves circulation, positively affects speed and physical fitness, and improves well-being. This is one of the reasons why squash came first in a ranking of the healthiest sports conducted by Forbes magazine. Those who take up squash to lose excess weight know what they are doing. During an intense one-hour match, you can burn as many as 900 kcal.

Who can play?

Squash is a sport that almost anyone can try, regardless of age. Children start playing squash as young as five. It is not yet a genuine game at that age, but seven-year-olds are already beginning to compete in tournaments. There is also no upper age limit—many squash enthusiasts are of retirement age, and the number of players competing in Masters tournaments, including the 60+ category, is growing.

Squashstacja runs a squash school that children from the age of five can join, and the club also runs groups for adults. The “Lejdis” squash school for women is very popular, where women take their first steps in the sport.
