The NFZ website has published a list of Lower Silesian hospitals included in the network (45 facilities in total). The Bolesławiec county hospital was classified as a level I facility. What does this mean for our ZOZ? “We have a guaranteed contract with the NFZ for the next four years,” Adam Zdaniuk, head of the county facility, explains in an interview with istotne.pl Adam Zdaniuk .

He adds: “I was very concerned that if we were classified as a level I hospital, the four departments that exceed this level would not be included. Fortunately, that did not happen.”

As for the scope of medical services, we can reassure patients: the status quo has been maintained; nothing will change. However, the ZOZ director announces that the hospital will fight for level II reference status. To obtain it, a facility had to have three level II departments; the Bolesławiec facility has two: orthopedics and neurology. Unfortunately, in accordance with the act, the fact that our hospital also has a level III infectious diseases department, as well as an oncology surgery department, was not taken into account. “We therefore have four departments exceeding level I,” emphasizes A. Zdaniuk. “We will appeal, but the decision in this matter rests with the director of the Lower Silesian NFZ.”

More information about the hospital network is available on the website of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship Office. We will return to the subject.
