The city's spokesperson was the first to comment to us on the event's absence this year.
“The event was very nice, attracted people, and many became involved in it. The mayor was pleased with it,” said Agnieszka Gergont. “In May, I asked the center's director why she was not organizing the event this year. I only found out that there had been some problems, perhaps with comments about the candidates or with the young people's own interest, but I do not know exactly,” the spokesperson added.
Maciej Kołodziejski, who last year secured 15 local companies to sponsor the contest, was not enthusiastic about this change of plans.
“In that case, we can also hold the Bolesławiec Ceramics Festival every two years,” says Maciej Kołodziejski. “I am simply disappointed that the Miss and Mister Ceramics Festival Contest will now be held every two years. I received this information in April. However, I was not told why this decision was made. I had an interesting program prepared this year. I would like to emphasize that I was only a co-organizer, so there was not much I could do. It is just a shame about those three years. Year after year, I secured good sponsors who funded the best possible prizes for the participants. I made sure everyone was satisfied and, above all, remembered fondly the time we spent together preparing for the final. I will repeat: it is a shame to lose an event that was popular and had a good image,” adds Maciej Kołodziejski.
The sponsors of the Miss and Mister contest were: MARPOL, No Bosso Mintar, Biżuteria “WIKO”, Salon Sukien Ślubnych “LEJDIS”, “Galeria Urody” Ewelina Zioła, Salon Fryzur “Matrix”, Pralnia Chemiczna “Klaudia”, Kryta Pływalnia ORKA, SQUASHSTACJA, WGN Nieruchomości Małgorzata Mlak, Termy Bolesławiec, Łucja Wilk Fotografia and Auto-Linie. The main prizes were driving courses provided by: “Zenek” Nauka Jazdy Kamil Mierzwiak and Auto Szkoła OSK PABISZ.
We remind you that eight candidates entered the Miss Ceramics Festival contest in 2014. The crown was won by Maja Letko. In 2015, the contest was expanded to include the Mister category, and 11 people took part: six women and five men. The winners were: Iga Gręda and Damian Pikuła. In 2016, ten contestants entered the contest. The winners were: Paulina Pawłowicz and Kamil Wieczorek.
