The Lower Silesian Voivodeship Firefighters’ Beach Volleyball Championship is behind us. The competition was organized by the Lower Silesian provincial commander of the State Fire Service in Wrocław, with the cooperation of the Bolesławiec County Headquarters of the State Fire Service and MOSiR.
Fourteen firefighter teams competed at the event, held at the Water and Sports Centre on Spacerowa Street in Bolesławiec. In the final, competitors from the Wałbrzych Municipal Headquarters of the State Fire Service, Adrian Bochenek and Adrian Sdebel, faced Piotr Induła and Damian Śliwiński, representatives of the Bolesławiec County Headquarters of the State Fire Service. The team from the City of Ceramics lost to the Wałbrzych team. Firefighters from the Wrocław Municipal Headquarters of the State Fire Service took third place, while officers from Góra finished fourth.
“Last year’s runners-up won first place. The hosts put up strong resistance and finished second. That is progress too,” sums up junior brigadier Arkadiusz Stadnik of the Lower Silesian Provincial Headquarters of the State Fire Service in Wrocław. “Lower Silesian firefighters showed their best side. Fortunately, there were no injuries.”
As A. Stadnik emphasizes, volleyball is a flagship discipline in the fire service: “This is probably because it is a team sport. That also translates into rescue operations, where teamwork is extremely important.”
The matches were officiated by Kamil Razik, who is usually the libero of “Elektryczni,” and Tomasz Medyński. The organizers thank the sponsors: Euro Poltech, Fit Style, Auto Spec, Serwis-Pak and the Andy Ceramic Plant from Tomaszów Bolesławiecki.
