On June 2, on a beautiful, sunny day, the 5th Integration Picnic under the slogan “Live in Color!” was held on the grounds of the Powiatowy Zespół Szkół i Placówek Specjalnych in Bolesławiec. On that day, the area in front of the school looked very festive and colorful. It was decorated with unique, handmade decorations, rainbow balloons and exceptionally colorful competition artwork. The entire school community and parents were involved in organizing the event. On this special day, we welcomed representatives of Powiat Bolesławiecki to our school: starosta Karol Stasik, deputy starosta Tomasz Gabrysiak, full-time member of the Board Stanisław Chwojnicki, and head of the Department of Education, Culture and Sport Alicja Krzyszczak. The city of Bolesławiec was represented by president Piotr Roman. (Below is an account of the event prepared by students of the Zespół Szkół Elektronicznych in Bolesławiec.)

The school grounds filled minute by minute with the bustle and laughter of happy children. Students from Bolesławiec primary schools and preschools arrived, as did children from the Zespół Szkolno-Przedszkolny in Rokitki and entire families with their children. This year, for the first time, we welcomed guests from our partner school in Hoyerswerda, Bautzen district. (Headteacher Henkel paid particular attention to the high standard of the event and invited PZSiPS teachers and students to her institution as early as September. We would very much like to accept this proposal and continue our partnership.)

The many attractions, such as the “Gigant” inflatable slide, ball pit, balloon fun, art station, competitions with prizes, games and activities, and a raffle, guaranteed unforgettable experiences. After the shared activities, everyone could enjoy blood sausage, sausages and fries, while homemade pastries and waffles were served for dessert. Such a large number of attractions was possible thanks to the support, generosity and assistance of kind-hearted people, as well as volunteers from the II Liceum Ogólnokształcące im. Janusza Korczaka in Bolesławiec.

The favorable weather meant that both children and adults had a wonderful time. The picnic proved to be a very successful event, much needed to bring the community together, and the greatest success was the children’s smiles. Events of this kind have a positive impact on strengthening family and friendship bonds.

As every year, the picnic had a multidimensional integrative aspect and also provided an opportunity to spend free time actively and healthily outdoors. We sincerely thank the students of the Zespół Szkół Elektronicznych im. Ignacego Domeyki in Bolesławiec for preparing the video report, as well as all the invited guests who found time to share a little happiness and joy with our students and pupils.

The initiator and coordinator of the picnic, for the fifth time, was Anna Pronkiewicz.
