The greatest problems are caused by utility areas, which do not always look attractive, and we do not know how to conceal them. Here are several ideas for giving them a different character.
1. Compost bin
This area is usually located somewhere in the corners of the garden. It is used for storing dried and wilted plant parts, which become very good natural fertilizer after decomposing. Unfortunately, compost heaps are not aesthetically pleasing. Wooden palisades are enough to conceal them.
2. Waste bin
As we know, one is required at every property. Plastic bins are not very presentable. A good idea for hiding them is to use wooden enclosures that can be incorporated into the garden’s overall arrangement. The size of the enclosure should be adapted to the number of containers needed for waste segregation. Another solution for concealing the waste bin could be a pergola planted with rose bushes. Each of these solutions improves the garden’s appearance.
3. Wood shed
This is a place for storing logs for a fireplace or fuel for a barbecue. It effectively protects the wood from weather conditions, especially rain and snow. In this way, stored wood does not become wet, while freshly cut wood can dry out. A wood shed makes it possible to store wood in an orderly manner; it can be arranged by size and later taken as needed. Several interesting and inexpensive ideas for developing these sensitive areas can be found at www.produktyogrodowe.pl.
4. Wood-slice paving
This is an unusual but highly original way of arranging garden paths. It looks very attractive in gardens maintained in a natural style. It is made from properly impregnated natural wood, which ensures the durability of the surface. This type of garden-path finish is very user-friendly and provides a feeling of warmth; it can even be walked on barefoot. During rain, water flows freely into the ground, so puddles do not form. Paths of this type should be finished at the sides with rollboards or low palisades, which will protect the wooden paving from deformation.
Loose wooden paving can be used to finish paths with unusual shapes. Individual elements are perfect for finishing winding, narrow paths. It is labor-intensive, but the result is worth it.
Wooden paths can be complemented by various types of wooden platforms and bridges adapted to the garden’s natural layout; they will be an excellent addition to its small architectural features.
