At the meeting organized by PKP S.A. in cooperation with the Bolesławiec City Office, among those taking part were passengers, residents, representatives of non-governmental organizations and local businesses, as well as people with disabilities. Everyone present had the opportunity to outline their expectations regarding the future investment.

The workshop participants learned about the scope of the project planned by PKP S.A. and the transport interchange that the City wants to build. They were then divided into smaller groups, where they discussed the station’s most important functionalities from their perspective. Attention was drawn to ensuring full accessibility for all passengers, including older people traveling with small children and people with disabilities. The need to create kiss & ride spaces (kiss and go), as well as covered and monitored bicycle parking facilities, was noted.

One of the proposed solutions was to combine passenger railway information with information and services for bus operators. It was also suggested that a café be opened in the station building.

“The participation of the local community in the workshop, including people with disabilities and older people, as well as representatives of local government and businesses, created an opportunity to exchange very different ideas and discuss the station’s most necessary functionalities,” said Paweł Wróblewski, a workshop moderator from PKP S.A. “Future passengers and the local community know the needs related to the future facility best,” he added.

Wednesday’s meeting marked the beginning of the consultation process. Workshop participants will soon receive access to a special group on a social media platform, where they will obtain regular updates on the project’s progress, be able to ask questions, and submit their observations and comments.

What do you think of the suggestions made by the meeting participants? What, in your opinion, should not be missing from the new station? We invite you to join the discussion.
