On Wednesday, 17 May, a creative workshop concerning the “Reconstruction of the railway station in Bolesławiec” investment was held in the Councilors’ Hall. Among those attending was Tadeusz Szulc, director of the Real Estate Management Branch of PKP S.A. in Wrocław. (He emphasized that PKP is increasingly focused on caring for railway stations: “We are working to make them places where waiting for a train is as pleasant as possible.”)

The workshop was led by Paweł Wróblewski from PKP S.A.’s Investment Office, who emphasized that this was the first meeting, but certainly not the last. The workshop participants had the opportunity to present their expectations and comments.

Piotr Roman, president of Bolesławiec: “We treat this task as part of a larger whole called the construction of the Transport Hub in Bolesławiec. But the PKP railway station is absolutely crucial here.”

The Bolesławiec hub is to be created as part of the Transborder project, carried out by 9 partners from 5 countries: Germany, Austria, Poland, the Czech Republic and Slovenia. The project itself, which as one of 9 Central European initiatives will receive funding from the Interreg Central Europe programme, was presented by Bolesławiec Deputy District Governor Tomasz Gabrysiak, who worked on the project when he was still employed by the city administration. Meanwhile, an outline of what the Bolesławiec hub could look like was presented by Bolesławiec Secretary Jerzy Zieliński.

The entire Transborder project is scheduled to end in December 2020. Its value is EUR 2.4 million. We will return to this topic.
