The ceremony began with a firefighters’ parade, followed by a solemn Mass. After the service, an official ceremony was held during which distinguished firefighters and people who had contributed to the development of the fire service in the municipality and beyond were decorated and awarded.
The ceremony was attended by guests including Bolesławiec Deputy County Head Tomasz Gabrysiak, Chairman of the Bolesławiec County Council Ryszard Kawka, Deputy Mayor of Jelenia Góra Piotr Paczóski, Prof. Anetta Zielińska of the Wrocław University of Economics, firefighters Ryszard Dąbrowa, Grzegorz Kocon, Zbigniew Bożęcki, as well as Chairman of the Gromadka Municipal Council Krzysztof Król, former Gromadka commune head Tadeusz Gąsiorowski, and delegations from the Czech Republic.
There was also hot food, artistic performances and a rescue operation simulation. A display of historic firefighting equipment was held as well. The ceremony concluded with a dance party.
