Councillor Kazimierz Gawron, upon resigning as a member of the Bolesławiec County Board, accused county officials in a letter that “leaked” to the media and was intended to justify his resignation of, among other things, irregularities in the operation and servicing of the County Board, wastefulness in spending public funds, as well as a disastrous personnel policy. (The full document is available in our article Gawron Reveals He Is Leaving Platforma, His Letter “Leaks” from the County Office).

The Board had no choice but to notify the prosecutor’s office. However, the revelations of the former coalition partner, now an opposition councillor, were not confirmed. As istotne.pl was told by Sebastian Woźniak, deputy head of the District Prosecutor’s Office in Bolesławiec, investigators found no irregularities. The case was discontinued. The prosecutor’s decision is already final.

Does this mean that county officials will seek to draw any consequences against Councillor Gawron? – I don’t know – Radosław Palczewski, the County Secretary, tells us today. – The letter concerned the previous County Board; there is a new one now. For the time being, we are waiting for the reasoning behind the decision to discontinue the investigation.
