Police officers arrested a 42-year-old man from Jelenia Góra suspected of theft. The crime took place in February at one of Jelenia Góra’s DIY stores. Taking advantage of a momentary lapse in the store staff’s attention, the man stole a price scanner. The owner estimated its value at more than PLN 2,000.
Police identified and arrested the man suspected of committing the crime. (The man probably threw the device away when he realized it was useless to him.) What is more, the 42-year-old was wanted—he has a four-and-a-half-year prison sentence to serve for other property crimes.
The thief was taken to pre-trial detention. He now faces up to another five years behind bars.
