Officials from various parts of Poland (clerks and councillors at all levels of local government) left their desks and took seats at tables covered with green baize. On 24 October, the Polish Local Government Officials’ Sport Bridge Championship began at the Prnjavor motel.
Over three days, 66 bridge players will compete in five tournaments: for the cups of the Marshal of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship, the Bolesławiec County Head, the Mayor of Bolesławiec, the Association of Polish Counties and the Association of Polish Cities. The competition regulations include the following provision: “An absolute ban on talking about politics applies throughout the entire event.”
The championship is organised by the Bolesławiec Bridge Club, Bolesławiec County and the Municipality of Bolesławiec.
