The author also conducted bibliotherapy workshops during which the children named their emotions and painted their dreams. Grażyna Hanaf spoke with the children while they learned about the fairy tale of Matylda, who had a hunchback, and discussed acceptance and openness toward students who differ in some way from their peer group.
The children greatly enjoyed the story presented in the fairy tale. They eagerly spoke about the situation of the main character, her feelings and troubles, while also admiring the beautiful, colorful illustrations in the book. The students talked about their dreams and their imaginary worlds, and created artwork by painting their own dream-fulfillment machines.
The meeting was organized as part of the educational and character-building project “Books Teach, Entertain and Educate,” initiated by teachers Małgorzata Maślanka and Aleksandra Józiewicz, in cooperation with the Czytnik Municipal Public Library in Lubin. It was the first of three author-led workshop meetings with the writer. The next ones will be held at Czytnik and in the school library of Primary School No. 14 in Lubin in April and May 2017.
