Coffee, pots and stockings as gifts. This was how women were thanked for their hard work and contribution to building order in the homeland, serving their families and the Polish People’s Republic. The party secretary, chief accountant and secretary themselves took part in preparations for the holiday. They made sure that every woman received her allocated carnation, a packet of coffee and a pair of stockings. The number of pots was also checked. Pots are a symbol of the home hearth, because in them our wonderful housewives prepare tasty lunches for their husbands and children every day after work.

There were also youth representatives who lined the women up to collect the obligatory flower, pot, coffee and stockings. The women personally acknowledged receipt of the gifts with the secretary. After the chairperson shook every woman’s hand, selected women were allowed to sit in a Polski Fiat 126p. The car was brought specially for this exceptional day from the Fabryka Samochodów Małolitrażowych in Bielsko-Biała.

Two talented artists, mothers and wives: Teresa Olszewska-Bancewicz and Halina Kubów prepared their paintings and sculptures for the exhibition. Despite their professional work and responsibilities as wives and mothers at home, the women find time to paint and sculpt something more, delighting every eye. The full report from the event is available on the BOK-MCC website.

It was almost just as shown in the attached video.
