When one of the residents of Pieńsk came to his allotment, he noticed an open window in his garden gazebo. He notified the police. Officers from the police station in Pieńsk arrived at the scene and arrested the burglar. He is a 30-year-old resident of Lasów who, from November last year to March this year, broke into at least 14 garden gazebos and vandalized two of them.
The suspect stole tools, gardening equipment, gas cylinders, electrical wires and copper tubing—all items that could be quickly sold. The victims’ total losses were estimated at nearly PLN 20,000.
The burglar now faces up to 10 years in prison.
