The evening’s program includes a prize raffle: a pot, a towel, books, coffee—something for the spirit and the body—and the main attraction: tights! Gifts have also been prepared for people dressed in the PRL style! A dance party with the greatest hits of the 1970s and 1980s. PRL-style refreshments: blood sausage, pickled cucumber, herring, chocolate, orangeade, coffee and tea with lemon.

The right outfit guarantees a good time and a chance to win a gift!

The event will also feature the opening of an exhibition by Bolesławiec artists Teresa Bancewicz and Halina Kubów.

Teresa Olszewska-Bancewicz creates textile art using her own technique. She works in painting, drawing, monotype, collage and textile art. At the Bolesławiec Cultural Centre – International Ceramics Centre, she leads textile-art classes. She has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions, including in Wrocław, Cieplice, Kowary, Osiecznica, Bolesławiec and Jelenia Góra. She was born on September 12, 1933, in Brześć nad Bugiem. In 1955, she graduated from the Fine Arts Secondary School in Wrocław. She specialises in advertising posters. In 1974, she graduated from the Warsaw School of Advertising under the direction of Szymon Kobyliński. For many years, she worked at WPHW in Jelenia Góra, designing interiors for model shops and decorating shop windows. Since 1986, she has lived in Przejęsław near Bolesławiec, where in 1989 she and her husband opened the “Izba Rękodzieła” Gallery. Teresa is also known for hitchhiking journeys. In 2013, Lidia Duda made a beautiful 50-minute study about the traveller from our region. The film tells a story about the joy of life, the strength of femininity, great courage and discovering the meaning of life.

Halina Kubów began her artistic journey only after retiring. As she herself said, “Free from her previous responsibilities, she has no time for boredom,” and she enrolled at the University of the Third Age, where she continues to pursue her dreams and passions. Painting was the first field in which she decided to test herself, initially under the guidance of Joanna Mysłek–Michnowska and later under the supervision of Katarzyna Sas. Mateusz Grobelny also appeared on her path of artistic development, revealing to her the secrets of ceramic art. Her great passion is also travelling around the world, and the experiences associated with it provide an endless source of inspiration for her work. Halina was born in Kraków in 1945. She graduated from the Clothing Technical School in Wrocław. She pursued her professional career in Bolesławiec, where she held a managerial position at the Hanka Knitting Factory. She also ran a clothing workshop there, designing garments.
